Synthetic Spinel colors :
Sapphire blue - 50 cents/gram
Aqua, Ceylon blue - 60 cents/gram
Burma blue- 70 cents/gram
Tourmaline green - 80 cents/gram
This material is produced by the flame-fusion (Verneuil) method and comes in full rounded boules. We cut slices to average 100 - 150 carats (20-30 grams), but you may purchase larger pieces up to a full boule (approx 400 cts).

CUTTING ANGLES: PAVILION - 42 CROWN - 40
POLISHING RECOMMENDATIONS: Ceramic lap with 50,000 diamond; BATT lap with 50,000 diamond and/or aluminum oxide powder (Linde A); diamond or aluminum oxide on tin. If diamond is used to polish, a final polish with aluminum oxide often gives best results.
